Mel and Grace Coplen, Warsaw, will mark their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 6, 2008. Melville A. Coplen and Grace O. Sutton were married Sept. 6, 1958, at the Tiosa Brethren Church, Tiosa, with the Rev. Edgar Berkshire officiating.

He is retired from Zimmer, and she is a homemaker and has worked as a beautician for many years.

The couple have two daughters: Rebecca Caudill, Warsaw, and Sandi Smith, Columbus. They have two granddaughters, two grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Knights of Columbus building, Warsaw. The couple requests no gifts.
