RENSSELAER – Connie Lee Williams, 86, of Rensselaer, passed away Aug. 13, 2011, in her residence.

She was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Queen City, Mo., to Glenn R. and Bessie G. Latshaw Fortune. On June 6, 1946, in Rensselaer, she married Delbert E. Williams, who died Aug. 10, 1995.

She attended Rensselaer High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, Rensselaer, where she served as financial secretary for 43 years and was honored as Deaconess Emeritus.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and spouse Randy) Reed, Lexington, Ky., and Kathy Williams, Warsaw; a son, Rick (and spouse Opal) Williams, Rensselaer; grandchildren, Amy (and spouse Rob) Longwill, Danville, Ky.; Patrick Williams, Rensselaer; and Jennifer Williams, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren, Coleman and Karly Longwill, both of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glenn Fortune Jr.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer, with the Rev. Eric Brotheridge officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer.
