Authorities will not release the names of two individuals who died in a fatal car accident Saturday until after confirming their identities by dental records.
County deputies and emergency personnel responded just after 3 p.m. Saturday to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ind. 19 in Etna Green, according to a presss release from the Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team. Bourbon Police Department officers were first to arrive and discovered one vehicle fully engulfed in flames with an individual ejected.
Etna Green Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire, then discovered a second burned victim inside the vehicle.
Both individuals were pronounced dead.
Accident reconstructionists from  Kosciusko County FACT, comprising Warsaw Police officers and Kosciusko County deputies, were summoned to the scene, along with a reconstructionist from the Indiana State Police.  A preliminary investigation by officers determined a semi-truck driven by Adam J. King, 34, Lima, Ohio, was eastbound on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection of Ind. 19.
King, for an undetermined reason, struck the rear end of the other vehicle, which was stopped for a red traffic light in the same eastbound driving lane. The semi and fatality vehicle continued forward, striking a gray GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Larry L. Nelson, 58, Dyer.
Nelson and his wife were reportedly uninjured during the crash, as was King.
Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson stated positive identification of both deceased individuals from the burned vehicle has not yet been formally determined and may require the use of dental records.
Kosciusko County FACT members stated that the crash is still under investigation.[[In-content Ad]]
