Editor, Times-Union:
A storm didn’t dampen the coming of almost 75 attendees that came to the free dinner on Monday evening, July 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall.
Besides SFX, the United Methodist and the First Presbyterian Church members formed the committee to have a summertime, cook-out for those in the area that are financially or socially needy and community minded. All seemed to enjoy the food and the whole scenario. Many wanted to contribute food and time.  These are necessaries, but not to keep anyone from coming.
A meeting of the initial committee will be held July 24 to determine if similar events will be held and when. Any suggestions or comments may call 574-594-2723.
