Pet owners will soon have another veterinary clinic to take their small animals to.
Community Animal Hospital, 3800 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw, will open its doors Nov. 4. The clinic is owned by practicing veterinarian Dr. Shanna Ewert, a Purdue graduate who moved back to Indiana after practicing in Florida.
Ewert graduated from Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After graduation, she worked for a small animal practice in Florida for eight years. The Warsaw native moved back to Indiana in 2012 and had been working in Ossian until deciding to focus on starting her own practice this year.
She is opening her new practice inside what used to be a wood carving shop. She’s been remodeling since July and the project is nearly finished.
“I wanted to be able to practice high-quality medicine and surgery,” Ewert said. “I wanted to start a kennel that cared for animals, let them out several times a day and was very nurturing.”
Community Animal Hospital will be a general practice veterinary clinic that will offer preventative medicine, including general exams and blood tests; standard medicine for sick animals, including opthamology and dermatology; and standard surgery, including spay and neuters and standard orthopedic surgeries using gas anesthesia. The hospital will also focus on animal dental health.
Ewert said her clinic will also offer ultrasounds, digital radiography and glaucoma and hypertension screenings – things you may not find at every clinic, she said. Community Animal Hospital will also provide in-house and outside blood work.
The clinic will also offer boarding services inside a new addition to the existing property.
Animals will be let out a minimum of four times a day and will receive a courtesy bath if they board five nights or longer.
Clients will be able to purchase general merchandise at the hospital including food, shampoos, toys, and heartworm, flea and tick medicines.
Community Animal Hospital will also host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 2. Prospective or interested clients can tour the facility, enjoy refreshments and enter a free raffle.
For more information on Community Animal Hospital, phones will be answered starting Tuesday at 574-306-3122.
Emails will be answered immediately at [email protected] or visit www.warsawvet.com
Clients will be seen with appointments, though emergent cases are welcome on a walk-in basis. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
