Commissioners Make Appointments, Award Bridge Bid

Pioneer Associates won the project with a bid of $262,151.06. That bid came in $37,302.44 lower than the engineer's estimate, and was more than $1,200 lower than the nearest bidder.
County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden said the project on the bridge on Old 15 just south of Milford will begin in the spring.
The commissioners approved the following people as appointments in 2011 for county boards.
Gordon Vanator - Alcohol Beverage Commission
Dan Richard - Area Plan Director
Bob Conley - Area Plan Commission
Dr. William Remington - Board of Health medical director
Vic Virgil and Charlie Haffner - Board of Zoning Appeals
Ron Robinson - County Administrator
Mike Miner - County Attorney
Scott Tilden - County Highway Superintendent
Mary Mills and John Hall - County Visitors Bureau Commission
Ron Truex and Mike Long - Drainage Board
Wes Stouder and Bill Holder - Economic Development
Ed Rock - Homeland Security
Ron Truex - Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation
Ron Truex - Lakeland Regional Sewer District
Phil Beer, Gary Slayer, Gerald "Jake" Bitner - PTA/BOA
John Hall, Alan Alderfer and Steve Harris - Public Defenders Board

A public hearing was held for Enchanted Hills on a grant they have applied for through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The grant is being administered through Bob Murphy.
The grants won't be awarded by the state until Dec. 30.
The commissioners approved agreements for maintenance and tech support for $3,194. The request was made by County Clerk Jason McSherry.
A change in personnel policies also was approved. It mainly deals with establishing what hours different departments work rather than having a uniform policy for different agencies.
