He was born July 4, 1954, in Wabash, to Joseph E. and Marilyn M. Martin Mort, who survive in Warsaw.
A longtime Kosciusko County resident, he was a machinist for Dana Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of UAW Local 1405.
Other Survivors include two brothers, Kevin (and spouse Cynda) Mort, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Tristan (and spouse Janice) Mort, Syracuse; two sisters, Joni (and spouse Bob) Walter, Nappanee, and Janeen (and spouse Tony) Meinert, Claypool; five nephews: Christopher, Zachary, Andrew and Bryan Mort and Matthew Meinert; three nieces: Erin Mort, Lyn Kritikos and Heather Meinert; four great-nephews and one great-niece.
