Charles and the former Valda Fruit were married Feb. 14, 1946, at the home of the bride’s parents, Frank and Ruth Fruit. Charles’ parents were Treve and Eileen Collier.
The couple operated Collier Oil, south of Pierceton, for many years, and still live in the same house in which Charles grew up.
The couple have eight children: Jim (and spouse Linda) and Lewis (and spouse Terri), both of Warsaw; Sharon (and spouse Harold) Lehman, Chuck (and spouse Lise), Tim (and spouse Deborah), all of Pierceton; Colleen (and Michael) Trueblood, North Manchester; Marsha (and spouse Greg) Holmes, Angola; and Mark, Sidney. They also have 26 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
