NORTH MANCHESTER - Colleen V. Scheetz, 90, of Ladysmith, Wis., and formerly of rural Roann, died at 3:10 a.m. Feb. 25, 2008, in Rusk County Memorial Hospital, Ladysmith.

She was born May 1, 1917, in North Manchester, to Galen and Pauline Weber Cook. On April 28, 1944, she married Ernest A. Scheetz, who died June 19, 1995.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Laketon School and St. Bonifice School, Lafayette, and occasional classes at Purdue University, West Lafayette. She was a member of St. Robert's Catholic Church, North Manchester. In her early years she was raised by her grandparents, George and Wilma Weber, in North Manchester, while her mother attended Purdue University. She graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, and earned a master's degree in home economics education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey (and spouse Lana Crafton) Scheetz, Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Doraleen Scheetz-Hollar, Mankato, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
