ROCHESTER - Colleen May, 61, of 718 Fortna Drive, Rochester, died at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 19, 2010, from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.

She was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Logansport, to Russell and Lauramay Wandry Koebcke. On Nov. 20, 1976, in Winamac, she married Delbert May, who survives.

She graduated from Kewanna High School in 1966. She attended Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education. Returning to Fulton County, she was a student teacher at Caston Schools, then taught second grade for 41 years. She had just retired last spring. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Rochester. For many years she taught vacation Bible school and was a member of the alter guild. She was a member of Caston Classroom Teachers Association, the ISTA and NEA.

Also surviving are two daughters, Allison Tyler, Danville, and Kelly (and spouse Chris) Drubert, Browsburg; two grandsons; and two brothers, Larry Koebcke, Valparaiso, and Walter (and spouse Donna) Koebcke, Kewanna.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rochester, with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Lake Cemetery.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
