With great interest I read Roger Gaff's letter to the editor, regarding the current basketball coaching situation at Warsaw Community High School. As a long-time Tiger Basketball fan, I must concur with his letter. I have known Roger for many years, and feel that he is fully qualified to state his opinions. I too have been a long-time basketball season ticket holder at Warsaw Community High School (38 years, 1967-2005), and enjoyed the many successes of our teams under Jim Miller, and his successor Al Rhodes. During their tenure, the Tiger fans saw our teams win 85 percent to 90 percent of their games, and multiple tournaments and championships. Warsaw Tiger fans expected to win every time they took the floor, and we "knew" we would win every game.

Current Warsaw Community High School basketball head coach, Doug Ogle, is a gentleman and undoubtedly a very caring person. All the pieces were in place for him to succeed when he was appointed head coach.

If the Warsaw basketball community is completely satisfied with what coach Ogle has accomplished, then he is the man for the job. If winning 60 percent of their games (thus far) is satisfactory, and countless empty seats in the gymnasium is OK, then coach Ogle is the right man for the job. If not, then maybe the WCHS administration should look at other options.

For the record I did not give up my season tickets because of coach Ogle. I gave up my seats because of a disagreement with the athletic director's office about my seating arrangement. I do not have a conflict with Dave Fulkerson and think that he is an excellent athletic director.
