Clyde E. "Jack" Truex, 81, of Kosciusko County, died at 11:20 a.m. July 21, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born May 24, 1927, in Clunette, to Algie and Martha Grove Truex. On Oct. 25, 1947, in Warsaw, he married Arlene J. Miller, who survives.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was a farmer and was an assembler at Orthopedic Equipment Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Atwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Japan during World War II. He was honorably discharged Jan. 27, 1947.

Also surviving are two daughters, Janice (and spouse Steve) Sponseller, Atwood, and Helen (and spouse John) Owens, Mentone; a son, Dale (and spouse Joni) Truex, Atwood; four sisters: Joye Keil, Elkhart; Inabelle (and spouse Lowell) Krou, Winona Lake; and Mary (and spouse Eldon) Pike and Barbara (and spouse Leo) Mosier, all of Etna Green; a brother, James (and spouse Donna) Truex, Atwood; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Harold and John Truex; a sister, Geraldine Null; and a grandson, Jeremy Owens.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. David Heim of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
