He was born in Leesburg, to Charles and Blanche Kirkendall Parson. He married Janieve Staples, who survives in Lebanon, Mo.
He attended schools in Oswego and Leesburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Brazil, South America. He lived in Edwardsburg, Mich., and worked at Bendix Corp., South Bend, retiring after 30 years and moving to Missouri.
Also surviving are two sons, Tim (and spouse Glenda) Parson, Richland, Mo., and Tom (and spouse Carol) LaPorte; a daughter, Joyce Parson, Lebanon; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice (and spouse Homer) Campbell, Warsaw.
