He was born April 27, 1921, in Roaring Spring, Pa., to Elmer W. and Ida Brown Miller. On April 27, 1947, in Harrisburg, Pa., he married Kathleen Miller, who died July 16, 2013.
He graduated from Woodbury (Pa.) High School in 1940 and served with the U.S. Army 3119th Signal Service Battalion during World War II. Tec 5 Clair F. Miller was honorably discharged July 7, 1946, at Fort Dix, N.J.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he and Kathleen moved to Warsaw from Martinsburg, Pa., in 1967.
He was co-owner of R&C Builders. He was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church.
Surviving are four sons: Clair F. “Chip” (and spouse Shelley) Miller, Quincy, Ill.; Kenneth V. (and spouse Jody) Miller, Bunker Hill; Stephen (and spouse Lee) Miller, Warsaw; and Randy (and spouse Deb) Miller, Winona Lake; a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Bradley) Green, Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, D. Martin, Merle F. and Irvin B. Miller and two sisters, Marjorie L. Helsel and Eleanor Slagenweit.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church officiated by Pastor Brian Benjamin, chaplain at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one half hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
