The current 1986 truck will be retired, and the 1991 fire truck will be used as a reserve truck, according to WFD Chief Mike Rice.
The seven-year bond is not to exceed $1,110,000. It will provide funds to be used to purchase two fire trucks with necessary apparatus, related improvements, equipment and incidental expenses.
The council also:
n Approved a request from the Wastewater Treatment Utility facility to have NIPSCO provide power to the lift station at Harrison Ridge subdivision off of Husky Trail.
n Approved a request from the aviation department to transfer $1,000 from aviation general other supplies to aviation general rentals to cover uniform rental fees for the remainder of the calendar year.
n Approved the WFD to transfer $20,500 from repairs and maintenance to operating supplies, other services and charges and machinery and equipment. The transfers are due to increased fuel costs and obtaining additional radio licensing fees.
n Approved Warsaw Police Department transferring $15,000 from police salaries to police repair and maintenance. The purpose of the transfer is to replenish funds used to pay for police repair expenses by outside contractors out of the 2008 budget.
The council will meet again Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at city hall to meet with city department heads to discuss the 2009 budget.
