City Declares Revitalization Area At Whimet Inc.

Warsaw City Council Tuesday approved a resolution declaring Whimet Inc. as an economic revitalization area.

The business is at 2100 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, and the resolution will allow the business to apply for tax abatements on real and personal property.

Whimet Inc. will ask the council at its February meeting to grant a 10-year tax abatement on real and personal property. Whimet plans to purchase $844,764 in new equipment and $764,971 in building improvements.

The business plans to add 15 new employees over the next two years.

The city approved a Warsaw Fire Department activity report for 2008 with 1,466 responses.

The council also reviewed 2008 year-end reports for Warsaw Parks Department and Oakwood Cemetery.[[In-content Ad]]
