Cigs Stolen In Gas Station Heist

An employee with the Freedom Express Gas Station, South Main Street, Leesburg, called the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Monday morning to report the front door of the business was broken into.
At the time, police reported that the only thing missing from the gas station was a pack of Winston Lights.
Driver Extracted From Crash
NORTH WEBSTER - A Syracuse man was uninjured, though the Jaws Of Life were needed to extract him from his vehicle after it rolled over early Tuesday morning.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Mitchell E. Baumgardner, 21, East CR 900N, Syracuse, rolled his car over on CR 800N, 100 feet east of CR 400E in North Webster at 2:54 a.m. Tuesday.
Baumgardner was uninjured and volunteered to take a blood draw to test his blood alcohol content.
Woman Crashes Into Retired Tigers
A Warsaw woman accidentally backed into Retired Tigers Tuesday afternoon, causing major damage to the building.
In a Warsaw Police Department accident report, Lena R. Shepherd, 78, who lives at Retired Tigers, mistakenly put her car into the wrong gear and ran over a handrail and landscaping before running into the building.
Shepherd was not injured in the collision.
The total damage estimate for the vehicle and the building was between $50,000 and $100,000.
Accident Victim Recovering
COLUMBIA CITY - A South Whitley woman injured in a Tuesday morning accident is in good condition.
Kathy Surface, 53, South Whitley, was a passenger in Marilyn S. Coy's vehicle when Coy allegedly failed to stop at the intersection of Raber Road and CR 300S near Columbia City.
Coy's vehicle was struck, and Coy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Contrary to a Whitley County Sheriff's Department report, a family member reported Surface didn't suffer minor bleeding from her head but rather a fractured pelvis and multiple contusions,.
Surface is currently at Parkview Hospital in Columbia City.[[In-content Ad]]
