Christine Neher, 86, died at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 29, 2011, in Grace Village Rehab, Winona Lake.

She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Tipton, to Ervin J. and Ethel Marie Ogle Stafford. On March 25, 1950, in Fort Wayne, she married Ivan D. Neher, who died Jan. 10, 1994.

She moved to Warsaw from Fort Wayne 60 years ago. She was a quality assurance inspector at Chamberlain Products, South Whitley, for 12 years, retiring in 1980. She was a graduate of Westfield High School. She enjoyed word searches, was a diehard Cubs fan, was passionate about her grandchildren,  was an avid card player and enjoyed Monopoly.

Surviving are a son, Larry (and spouse Fay) Neher, Claypool; two daughters, Connie (and spouse Bob) Hite, Akron, and Debbie (and spouse Ben) Crump, Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Jodean, Stephanie, Torie, Jared, Jason, Justin and Matt; and 10 great-grandchildren:  Damion, Sunshine, Summer, Jeremiah, Naaman, Gregory, Anna, Jacob, Darren and Dustine. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Nolan Stafford, and two sisters, Virginia and Deanavaughn.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist of Kosciusko County, Claypool.

No calling is planned.
