Last year I wrote a letter to the editor of this paper asking what is the difference between a Republican and a Democrat. I do not see that much of a difference in my friends and loved ones from one party affiliation to the other. So as always I set out on a quest to find out what was the main differences.
The conventions answered my questions tenfold. On one side you have a party that does not want to have a God of any description as a center of their platform. Also, they believe murder of a person with no ability to speak for themselves is OK because it falls under another person’s choice of what they do with their body. Another thing they strongly believe is that big brother is our keeper and should oversee our lives and choose who has what, and how much of it they are allowed to keep. One thing I found astonishing was their inability to agree on the capital of Israel.
The other party believes in self preservation, when a person has the means to self preserve. They also believe all life is a gift from our God above, no matter what people call him. In my Christian faith I believe Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish state of Israel. The list goes on and on and the differences are wide and very distinctive.
So there will not be any question, I associate much more closely with the latter party. I believe murder is murder and all life is sacred. I believe in individual opportunities and that the government should not stand in the way of productivity.
I read letters here in this paper by people that want us to believe both major parties are the same and there is no differences between them. That is so far from the truth. I agree all parties are run by people. Those people want their agenda carried out in America as well as the rest of the world for that matter but that is where it ends. Does anyone think that if you change the name of something it would somehow change form? Some people say they are a Libertarian and electing that party would change everything. So let’s say we elect them, does that mean they would somehow be more fair and balanced and not selfish and promote their own agenda?
As long as we have humans running things they will inject their wants and desires and disregard most anything that does not agree with them. We should all take a stand and be honest about what we support. You can not believe in legal murder and still be a Christian. It is impossible to pick and choose how or what you want Christianity to be. You must at the very least believe in what Jesus taught, even if you fall short of his message, you must believe it or accept that you are not part of his flock.
For those that think this is a new world and we must live for today and adjust to the problems that this poses, you are sadly mistaken. The basics never change, no matter what the cars or phones look like. Man is the same as he was the day Cain killed Able. The wants, needs and desires of man will always be the same as long as man is man. God will never change his main message to love each other and never kill anyone. So either you agree with him or you don’t.
I could never side with a party that believes in murder and go against my lord Jesus who taught me to love my brother no matter who his mother is, or how old they are.
When you cast your ballot, think about what that party promotes and if it lines up with your faith because that is what you are voting for. It’s not a person it’s a platform. Legal murder or life?
