Election Day is fast approaching and there has been little discussion regarding one of the most important contests in our area - that of Warsaw Community School Corporation's 4th District School Board seat. Kent Adams is exactly what our school corporation needs. Kent is a public servant who has demonstrated the highest level of ethics and integrity in his 16 years of service as a State Representative and Senator.

Kent is a proven leader in our community as evidenced by his service on the board of directors of The Bowen Center, Grace College and Warsaw Community Development Corporation and in his current position as treasurer of Kosciusko County.

Kent was born and raised in Warsaw. His father Roy served as Warsaw's chief of police. After graduation from Manchester College, he began his 31-year education service as a teacher and coach in Leesburg. After obtaining his master's degree from Ball State and his doctorate from Walden University, he served as chief financial officer for three different school corporations, including several years in the Warsaw system.

For the 16 years Kent served our community as a State Representative and Senator, he demonstrated his ability to do his homework, listen to the public and then make the tough vote with no hidden agendas. His independent thinking has been well demonstrated.

His experience as a teacher, State Representative and Senator, chief financial officer and Kosciusko County treasurer provides him with a unique prospective that no other candidate has. He understands all aspects of the public school financing. He will be prudent in spending the public tax dollars. Spending for instruction will take priority over buildings.

More importantly, Kent understands that education takes place in the classroom led by our teachers. Buildings are important, but they are not education in and of themselves. He will work with his fellow board members and the school administration staff to make sure the primary focus of our school corporation is the classroom instruction and the supporting curriculum.

Kent believes that parents' involvement in their children's education is essential. He will work with the school corporation to boost its communication to champion excellence in the classroom.

With over 51 years of educational and public service, Kent has repeatedly proven that he can get the job done. There will be many tough decisions ahead as the costs of the new school projects are added to our tax bills. As a fiduciary of our tax dollars, he will pursue questionable expenditures. His proven leadership will add strength to our board.

Join me in casting your vote for Dr. Kent Adams for Warsaw Community School Corporation's District 4 school board seat.
