Cheryl Ann Sheppard Loughlin, 62, formerly of Warsaw, died at 6:51 a.m. Sept. 27, 2010, in Newport Beach, Calif., where she resided, of ovarian cancer, which was diagnosed in 2007.

She was born Jan. 27, 1948, in Indianapolis, to Eugene Gilbert and Helen Faye Bales Sheppard. She married Michael B. Loughlin, who survives. They divorced in 1979.

She was raised in South Whitley, resided in Newport Beach for the past 15 months and had lived in Warsaw since 1984. She was a 1976 graduate from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a bachelor's degree in art education. She worked in the finance department at Maple Leaf Farms for 22 years until 2009. She was very proud of the friends she made there. She was a member of Warsaw Community Church; Toastmasters International; Lakeland Art Association; YMCA; and volunteered for many cancer organizations and church ministries. She loved watching the Indianapolis Colts football and Indiana Hoosier basketball. She also enjoyed painting and scrapbooking.

She will be lovingly remembered by a son, Patrick Michael Loughlin, Niles, Mich.; a daughter, Kelly (and spouse Moe) Loughlin-Kharazmi, Newport Beach; a grandchild, Kaitlyn Loughlin; two step-grandchildren, Nina and Angie Kharazmi; two brothers, Stanton (and spouse Vicki) Sheppard, North Manchester, and Brent Sheppard, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Jody Sheppard, Fort Wayne; her ex-husband and best friend, Michael B. Loughlin, Ada, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with EJ Underwood officiating.

No calling is planned.
