COLUMBIA CITY - Charlotte Ann Scheiber, 76, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 30, 2009, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

He was born May 21, 1933, in Huntington, to Herman and Hazel Ellsroth Eckert. On May 22, 1954, in Huntington, she married Robert E. Scheiber, who survives.

She was born and raised in Huntington and moved to Columbia City in 1969. She also lived on Lake Wawasee from 1980-90 returning to Columbia City in 1990. Her winter home was in Naples, Fla. She graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1952. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.

Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey (and spouse Dianne) Scheiber, Huntertown; four daughters, Jennifer (and spouse Dale) Homan, Fort Recovery, Ohio; Jill Scheiber, Columbia City; Jacqueline (and spouse Michael) Koher, Cromwell; and Joannie (and spouse David) Wert, Noblesville; grandchildren, Joshua Lickey and Tyler, Corey (and spouse Kayla) and Emily Green, all of Columbia City, Megan Loe, Fort Recovery; Kyle (and spouse Jessie) Flumbaum, Albion; and Derek and Haleigh Wert, both of Noblesville; a great-grandchild, Gabriel Lickey, Columbia City; two sisters, Imogene Gressley and Barbara (and spouse Ralph) Johnson, both of Huntington; two brothers, William Eckert, Fort Wayne, and Robert Eckert, Wolf Lake; and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Herman Eckert Jr.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line St., Columbia City, with Father Larry Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Catholic prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
