He was born Aug. 24, 1939, in Hammond, to William Charles and Elizabeth Branic Spicker. On May 25, 2002, in Gary, he married Joan M. Cummings Macy, who survives in Pierceton, where she moved nine years ago from Gary.
He grew up in Hammond, and graduated in 1957 from Hammond Vocational Technical High School. He retired from Local 20 Sheet Metal Workers in Gary as a supervisor after 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Garfield Lodge #569 of Free & Accepted Masons, Highland; Orak Shriners, Michigan City; Scottish Rite; and Warsaw Gun Range. He enjoyed fishing and riding Harley motorcycles.
Also surviving are a daughter, Diane (and spouse Gary) Potts, Hebron; three sons: Mike (and spouse Beth) Spicker, Mokena, Ill.; Tony (and spouse Lisa) Spicker, Dyer; and Matthew Spicker, Valparaiso; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth (and spouse Jerry) Przwoznik, Warsaw; a stepson, Michael (and spouse Amber) Macy, South Whitley; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Higgins, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Spicker.
Calling and a Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Barbee Hotel Banquet Hall, 3620 N. Barbee Rd., Warsaw.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
