Charles “Paul” Gadson, 85, of Warsaw, died April 18, 2012, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw.

He was born March 12, 1927, in White Pigeon, Mich., to Charles and Hattie Schmidt Gadson. On May 28, 1949, in White Pigeon, he married Ruth Pendelton, who died July 31, 1993.

Living in Warsaw since 1951, he worked in Washington, D.C., with his wife for a short time before that. He served our community for 45 years working as a pharmacist at Thornburg Drugs, Judd Drugs, Brennan’s Pharmacy and Hooks/Revco. He retired in 1993 after his wife’s passing. He served in the Navy during both World War II and the Korean War.

He graduated from Ferris State University, Michigan, where he received his degree in pharmacy. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. He was involved as Scoutmaster for the Cub Scouts and was a Mason. He was a longtime volunteer who helped others in need by transporting them to medical appointments.

Surviving are: Mark (and spouse Karen) Gadson, West Chester, Pa.; Brian (and spouse Tracy) Gadson, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and Deborah (and spouse Brad) Parker, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Chance, Megan, Alex and Max; a brother, Carl Gadson; and two sisters,  Margaret and Dorothy. He also was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with calling to follow. Pastor Toni L. Carmer of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, will officiate. Private burial will be in  White Pigeon Township Cemetery.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
