Charles “Jack” Alton Fawley, 81, passed away at 8:01 a.m. April 19, 2016, in his Warsaw home.
He was born April 14, 1935, in Kosciusko County, to Lloyd Gerald and Erna M. Pundt Fawley. On May 18, 1957, in Auburn, he married Martha Stevens, who preceded him in death in 1989.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was born near Etna Green and lived there until his father passed away when Jack was only 6 years old. He graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1953. He was a U.S. Army combat engineer in Germany, and was honorably discharged in August 1959.
He worked at SunMetal, doing machine maintenance for 18 years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and Pinochle. He also enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms, collecting coins and attending auctions.
Surviving are a son, Jeff (and spouse Jana) Fawley; a daughter, Kathy (and spouse John) Nulf, all of Warsaw; five grandchildren: Chris and Steven Fawley, both of Katzweiler, Germany; Daniel Fawley and Nicole Nulf, both of Warsaw; Alex Nulf, Indianapolis; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ashley Fawley, at home. He also was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Erna Fawley; and a sister, Patricia Morris, who died in 2001.
Services will be at noon Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor John Cook, of First United Methodist Church, Wabash, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
