NORTH MANCHESTER - Charles F. Renschler, 92, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at 11:50 a.m. Feb. 9, 2008, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Madison, to Charles and Nell Kelly Renschler. On Jan. 30, 1943, he married Mary Alice Gehring, who died in 1995. On May 3, 1997, he married Jean Loucks Grubb, who survives.

He retired as purchasing agent at Seagram's Distillery, Louisville, Ky., after 35 years. He served as a navigator and was a second lieutenant in the Army-Air Force from 1942-45. He was a member of Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Louisville. He earned a bachelor's degree in business/chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1940.

Also surviving are a son, William C. "Bill" Renschler, Cincinnati, Ohio; a stepson, James Grubb, Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Renschler, Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Jane (and spouse David) Richards, Vicksburg, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Sally (and spouse Ryan) Williams, Charlotte, N.C., and Marsha (and spouse Gary) Groninger, Olathe, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lawrenceburg. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, Lawrenceburg.

No calling is planned.
