LEESBURG – Charles F. “Charlie” Adams, 88, Leesburg, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Jan. 9, 2015, at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
He was born June 16, 1926, in Akron, to Waldo L. and Mabel Dickey Adams. On Nov. 25, 1948, in Milford, he married Evelyn R. Tom, who survives in Winona Lake.
He and Evelyn, his wife of 67 years, shared a very special love for each other, their three daughters and family.
He was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, graduated from Beaver Dam High School and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. He retired from the Zimmer Corporation as a master maintenance journeyman after several years of service. He worked for Yeiter & Ganshorn John Deere in Warsaw, where he was known as the “combine man.” He previously farmed for many years.
He was a member of the North Webster Church of God, Masonic Lodge in Leesburg and National Association of Amateur Radio Operators. He was involved with the Boy Scouts, 4H Club, ROTC and was formerly president of the Franklin Township Farm Bureau.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (and spouse Mike) Tucker, Leesburg, and Nancy (and spouse Allen) Floring-Robinson, Warsaw; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Diana Walker.
Private family services will be at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial is in Leesburg Cemetery.
