Charity Golf Scramble Monday

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

LEESBURG – Kosciusko Board of Realtors is sponsoring its 19th Annual Charity Golf Scramble at Tippecanoe Lake County Club in Leesburg Monday afternoon.

This event is open to the public.

Funds raised go to support KBOR’s “Shoes for Scholars.”

Over the past seven years, more than 900 pairs of shoes have been distributed to needy elementary children throughout the county. Working with the Salvation Army, coupons valued at $25 are given to children so they can go out and buy their own shoes.

Other funds raised are used to buy backpacks, filled with school supplies.

Still other funds are used to provide three scholarships annually to students needing financial assistance so they can attend college.

Non-golfers are welcome to support this event by providing financial contributions.

The Realtors and their affiliate members believe this community shoe project is a worthy effort in helping children feel accepted at school while keeping their feet safe and dry.

For more information, contact Tom Tuttle at 574-457-3775 or by contacting the KBOR office at 574-269-6706 or at P.O. Box 1077, Warsaw, INâ46580.
