Zachary Steven Adams, 25, of South Bend, reportedly was involved in both burglaries, while Michael Todd Cavinder Jr., 27, of Mishawaka, reportedly was involved in one of the break-ins.
The first burglary was March 15, and the second occurred June 16. In both cases, the store, at 1715 E. Center St., Warsaw, was broken into and large amounts of prescription medications were stolen. The estimated value of the damage and drugs in each incident totaled between $3,000 and $10,000.
Adams faces two counts of burglary, a Class C felony; two counts of theft, a Class D felony; and two counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class C felony.
He reportedly failed to report to his parole supervision and is currently wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations for breaking his parole. A warrant has been issued for Adams' arrest for his involvement with both burglaries.
Cavinder allegedly was only involved in the March 15 burglary. He is currently incarcerated at the Westville Correctional Facility for a conviction in a case that is not related to the burglary.
Cavinder faces one count of burglary, a Class C felony; one count of theft, a Class D felony, and one count of illegal possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class C felony.
A warrant has been issued for Cavinder's arrest, and he will be brought to Kosciusko County to answer to the charges.
According to the Warsaw Police Department, "Both Adams and Cavinder were implicated in the burglaries with DNA and other evidence collected by responding officers from both crime scenes."[[In-content Ad]]A third person remains under investigation for his involvement with the burglaries.
Police also are still investigating a burglary at the same store that occurred Dec. 30, 2009, and believe it may be related to the March 15 and June 16 break-ins.
