Central Park Concerts, Sound Contracts OK'd

The board approved a $27,500 contract with Mischell Productions Inc. for promotion for two national classic rock bands to perform June 17 in Central Park. A contract for $3,900 was approved with Brian Fraval for production for the Classic Rock Concert.
A contract for $29,500 was approved with Mischell Productions for two national country bands to perform July 22 in Central Park.
A $750 contract was approved with Brian Fraval for production for the Blues and Barbecue concert July 8.
The headliners and opening performers will be announced April 1 with the country concert being announced on Willie 103.5 and classic rock concert on 107.3 WRSW. A press release also will be sent out naming the performing artists.
It was previously announced that Larry Garner was approved to be the headliner for the blues and barbecue concert and Jennie DeVoe as the opener.
The board also approved event cancellation insurance for the Classic Rock and Country concerts.
Also Friday, the board opened bids for a new fire truck to replace its current 1994 truck. Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory will review the bids at its March 29 meeting and board of works will make a decision at its April 1 meeting.
The board also approved:
• Road closure requests for Fat & Skinny Tire Festival May 20 on North Buffalo and Market streets.
• Closing Lake and Main streets July 19 from 3 to 8 p.m. for opening ceremonies for the World Series tournament.
• A $4,798 contract with Apollo Printing & Graphics, South Bend, for printing the 2016 recreation guide.
• A $5,758.80 grant from Kosciusko County Convention, Recreation and Visitor’s Commission to purchase 10 paddleboards and paddles.
• A $12,200 contract with SiteScapes for a five-year master plan for the city.
• A $738 contract with Department of Homeland Security for application for amusement entertainment permits.
• A $2,565 annual contract with Broadvoice for telephone services and phones for Pete Thorn Center office and campgrounds.
• A two-year contract with Wildman Uniform and Linen for mats, uniforms and linens for Warsaw Police Department.
• A $12,387.50 payment to American StructurePoint for engineering services for the Buffalo Street redevelopment project.
• Relocating a boat ramp at the end of Buffalo Street to an area north of Center Lake Park off of Ind. 15 to continue forward with the Buffalo Street Redevelopment Project.
• An encroachment agreement to allow a part of the 1st Source Bank drive-thru lane to encroach on city right of way.
• A $8,365 payment to VS Engineering Inc. for work on the Market Street project and a $343,759.17 payment to Niblock Excavating for East Market Street improvements.
• A $16,380 payment to A&Z Engineering for right of way acquisition services for the Husky Trail project.
Warsaw Community Schools has donated land for the Husky Trail project.
“We are thankful for their cooperation,” said Jeremy Skinner, city planner.
• A $6,500 contract with CWC Latitudes LLC for a Stellar Community Program. The city will partner with Winona Lake to apply for the program.
The lieutenant governor’s office will announce the finalists in mid April.
• A $17.50 an hour salary for Penny Lutes to serve as Warsaw Police Department records clerk to replace Heather Frazier, who went to the parks department.[[In-content Ad]]
