Center Lake Canoe Classes Start Tuesday

Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will offer a free opportunity for the community to use canoes on Center Lake Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is the first of several dates planned throughout the summer.

Canoes will be launched from the east side of the swimming pier at Center Lake beach and may be used in timed increments.  A waiver will be required for each participant, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children interested in learning how to canoe can sign up for canoe clinics June 11 at Lucerne Park.  Session times are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

The cost is $5 per child, and the basics of canoeing safety, paddling, steering and teamwork will be taught
