CCS Building

In May 11th’s Times-Union I read an article on the front page about CCS building a new place that will cost 1.5 million dollars. Then, in the May 19 edition about how the cupboards are bare, and that CCS received $11,857 from United Way. And that transaction after the big food drive on May 14. This brings a few questions to mind.
1. If CCS is having to seek funds to help fill cupboards and help with utility bills and rent, where do they come up with 1.5 million dollars for new construction?
2. Why, when Warsaw has empty buildings setting around, do they not just take over one of those? Or build a $40,000 pole barn? I would think that would be plenty big enough to work out of, and have plenty of storage space.
3. Where does the 1.5 millions dollars come from? Grants? Our tax money” (As if we don’t already pay for enough political issues.)
I don’t mind helping out. I have been in those shoes and if it were not for three really good friends of mine who have helped me both financially and emotionally I don’t know where I would be. And one thing they taught me was about cutting corners, saving money and living within my means. So if CCS is having trouble keeping the cupboards stocked why do they need a 1.5 million dollar building? Wow! Here’s a concept. Put a big portion of the $1.5 million toward filling cupboards.
