CASA of Kosciusko County Announces 'Casino Royale' Fundraiser

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Kosciusko County will hold a “Casino Royale” fundraiser at the St. Regis Club July 20 from 7 to 11 p.m.
“Casino Royale” will be a James Bond-inspired event featuring a true casino experience with games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, Texas hold’em and three card poker.  Guests can also enjoy raffles, hors d’oeuvres by Viand Chef, a cash bar and a James Bond-themed costume contest.
Included in the $50 ticket price will be $100 in free “Bond Bucks” money vouchers, which can be spent on casino chips, raffle tickets and select auction items.  The event is limited to 150 guests, which will include corporate sponsors, business leaders and other CASA supporters from the community and Northern Indiana.
It will also feature new auction items like a B.B. King guitar, vacation for two on Hawaii’s Waikiki Beach, a Muhammad Ali boxing glove, VIP rooftop experience at Wrigley Field, fishing getaway for two in Colorado, an exotic supercar driving experience in Las Vegas, and more.
Tickets are available online at www.casachildren.com or by phone at (574) 372-2401. The St. Regis Club is at 114 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw.
The fundraiser is expected to raise more than $40,000, which will be used to help local abused and neglected children in need of services.
Community support is continuously needed when the cost associated with serving a single child can be more than $1,000. Funds raised at this event will enable CASA to continue training volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children and allow for the resources needed for future volunteer recruitment and general operations.
“We are continually humbled by the loving commitment of our community in supporting our local children who are at risk of unsafe home environments via donations to CASA.  Unfortunately, the need continues to rise, so we have added this second fundraising event to our schedule to help cover the costs of our upcoming CASA advocated training program,” said Jill Serbousek, president of the CASA Board of Directors.
Mackenzie Cloutier, executive director of Kosciusko CASA, said, “CASA advocates/volunteers are required to undergo an extensive 33 hour training course designed to help them prepare for the delicate issues of an abused or neglected child’s home environment.  We utilize our donations to help train and support local advocates, who in turn help local children.”
CASA leaders expressed gratitude for the St. Regis Club for hosting the event, and to event sponsors who have made financial commitments which include $2,500 from Adecco; $1,000 from Warsaw Autoplex; $500 from Intru-med, Hall & Marose Silveus, Mark and Tina Dobson, and Zimmer; and $250 from Orange Door Dental Group, Sally Bailey with Coldwell Banker, and Wetzel Insurance Agency.
For more information on how to participate as an event sponsor and receive incentives, contact CASA at (574) 372-2401. For more information about “Casino Royale,” visit www.casachildren.com
The mission of CASA, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence, and have the opportunity to thrive.
