Carter 85th Birthday

Gwenlyn E. Young Carter, Warsaw,  celebrated her 85th birthday Friday with her family. She was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Warsaw, to Lester and Beryl Murphy Young.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1948. She attended Manchester University and Ball State University and majored in speech and hearing therapy. She was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
On Aug. 16, 1953, she married Bill Carter. They were married for almost 37 years before he passed away April 1990. She has two children, Linda (and spouse Dave) Francis, and Kevin (and spouse Angie) Carter, She also has four grandchildren: Ryan and Lindsey Francis and Casey and Cade Carter, a step grandson, Cody Sunday and a step great-great-granddaughter, Luna Sunday.
She worked at Lake City Bank for five years and retired from First National Bank after 20 years of service. She and Bill loved antiques and owned Buggy Wheel  Antiques for several years. After that she worked part-time at Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, at the Warsaw office.
She is a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church nd participates in the cheese ball and prayer blanket ministries. She enjoys playing euchre and bridge and has had season tickets for the Wagon Wheel for more than 20 years. She lives with her dog Sophie.[[In-content Ad]]
