NORTH MANCHESTER - Carrie Burchett Poe, 74, of North Manchester, died at 9:42 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born Feb. 17, 1934, in Emma, Ky., to George and Cardella Jarrell Burchett. On Oct. 14, 1954, she married Cecil Poe, who died Aug. 15, 1997.

She retired from the former United Technology, North Manchester, and was a member of House of Prayer, Disko.

Surviving are four sons, George (and spouse Pam) Poe, Cecil W. (and spouse Mary) Poe, Harold Poe and Jack (and spouse Becky) Poe, all of North Manchester; four daughters, Carol Tackett, Emma (and spouse Wayne) Barrett and Rose (and spouse Rick) Grossnickle, all of North Manchester, and Bonnie Winterrowd, Cromwell; a brother, Charlie Collins, Milan, Mich.; three sisters: Sylvia Daugherty, Claypool; Geraldine Mangun, Mentone; and Opal Woods, Albion, Mich.; 32 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, two brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Danny Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
