VENICE, Fla. - Carolyn W. Peel, 62, died at 4:12 p.m. Aug. 2, 2008, following a battle with cancer.

She was born June 8, 1946, in St. Charles, Ark., to Burgon and Polly Edith West. On Nov. 5, 1975, in Memphis, Tenn., she married Edward B. Peel, who survives.

She attended Arkansas State University, Jonesboro. She lived in Bowie, Md., Elkhart and Warsaw and Naugatuck and Danbury, Conn., before retiring to Venice, Fla., in 2005. She worked at Uniroyal Chemical Co., Naugatuck, for several years.

Also surviving are a son, Chase (and spouse Amy), Encino, Calif.; a daughter, Ashley Peel (and spouse Andrew) Pinkham, Philadelphia, Pa.; two granddaughters; her mother, Polly Edith West, Dewitt, Ark.; a brother, Paul West, Dewitt; and a sister, Shirley Parker, St. Charles, Ark. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services and calling will be private. Burial will be in Venice Memorial Gardens, Venice.

Farley Funeral Home, Venice, is in charge of arrangements.
