NORTH MANCHESTER – Carolyn I. Leffel, 84, of North Manchester, died at 8 p.m. Jan. 27, 2013, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in North Manchester, to Dr. Carl and Ruth Hornish Holl. On June 1, 1950, she married Laurence R. “Larry” Leffel, who died April 14, 2003.
She retired after 32 years teaching elementary school in Manchester Community Schools. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Central High School in 1946 and from Manchester College in 1950. She received her master’s degree from Ball State in 1961. She was an associate member of Tri-Kappa, North Manchester.
Surviving are a son, Scott (and spouse Jo) Leffel, North Manchester; a daughter, Jay (and spouse Susan) Egolf, North Manchester; two brothers, Carl (and spouse Donna) Holl Jr., Noblesville, and John (and spouse Peggy) Holl, San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Win (and spouse Louise) Weldy, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 9 at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Karen Eberly officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is one hour prior to services Feb. 9 at the chapel.
McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
