Caroline D. Wise, 93, died at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 17, 2012, in Grace Village, Winona Lake.

She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Delphi, to Ellis and Dorothy Culp Hill. On Feb. 26, 1936, in Claypool, she married Gerald C. Wise, who died Oct. 15, 1993.

Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was a homemaker, a hard worker along side of her husband on their farm and a nurse’s aid at Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw. She was a member of the Claypool Home Economics Club. She loved antiquing and mushroom hunting. She was a good cook, enjoyed life and was fun to be around. She was a great mom who would do anything for her children. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden and the fishing trips she would take with her husband.

Surviving are three daughters: Nancy Amiss, Warsaw; Connie (and spouse James) Hutchison, Findlay, Ohio; and JoAnn (and spouse Larry) Stoppenhagen, Fort Wayne; a son, Eugene (and spouse Barbara) Wise, Silver Lake; 11 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Elene Shively, Warsaw, and Maralee Watson, Sun City, Ariz. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Alice “Jean” and infant Beverly Hill and Corabelle Smith, and two brothers, Donald and Anthony Hill.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Glenn Byers, Grace Village chaplain. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
