NORTH WEBSTER – Carol J. “Joanne” Johnson, 66, Warsaw, passed away at 10:37 p.m. Feb. 17, 2014, at The Maples Nursing Home, Goshen.
She was born Dec. 5, 1947, in Marion to Ernest DeWayne and Eva Lucille Reece Johnson.
She grew up in Warren and moved to the North Webster area in August 1957. She graduated in 1966 from North Webster High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne. She formerly worked as a secretary for Perfection Biscuit Co., Fort Wayne, for two years and retired in December 2002 from Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, after 34 years. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Warsaw.
Surviving are a brother, Richard (and spouse Janet) Johnson, Coldwater, Mich.; a niece, Michelle Johnson, Solana Beach, Calif.; two nephews, Michael L. (and spouse Angela) Johnson, Lafayette, and Matthew Johnson, Three Rivers, Mich.; one great-niece and one great-nephew; an aunt, Pauline Thompson, Goshen; and numerous cousins, including Karen (and spouse Gerald) Boyd, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Mike Beezley of Clunette United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
