He was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., to Georgia Laugle. On Jan. 30, 2016, in Huntington, he married Patricia Street, who survives in Huntington.
He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1966 and served as corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Hiner Transport, Huntington, after 38 years as a truck driver and was a member of VFW Post 2689, Huntington, and ABATE Motorcycle Club, Fort Wayne. He loved cars and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Also surviving are a son, Scott Sandlin, Huntington; a daughter, Sheri A. (and spouse Mike) Braden, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Stacey (and spouse Will) Loveless, Muncie; a brother, Tom (and spouse Glenda) Laugle, Tustin, Calif.; two sisters, Judy Hogan, Huntington, and Sharon (and spouse Kurt) Park, Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Karen Laugle, Huntington; and five grandchildren: Justin Braden, Chelsey Sandlin, Jack Keener, Dakota Braden and Cory Sandlin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Laugle.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington, with the Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 2689, Huntington.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
