PIERCETON – Carl Richard Oxenrider, 75, of Pierceton, passed away at 5:11 p.m. Jan. 25, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Albion, Mich., to Carl and Ethel Pauline Stauffer Oxenrider.

He lived most of his life in Kosciusko County. He graduated from Albion College with a bachelor’s degree and received his master’s degree from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne.

He was a history teacher at Lakeview Middle School of Warsaw Community Schools, retiring in 1992. He then owned Gas Light Antiques, Pierceton. He was a member of RCA Victor Victrola Club, Pierceton Antique Dealers and Pierceton Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are his cousins: Elizabeth Binkley and Sue (and spouse Mike) Collier, all of Columbia City;  Sylvia (and spouse Alan) Kauffman, St. Louis, Mo.; Sarah (and spouse Dennis) Myers, Wakarusa; Carol (and spouse Bill) Koos, Warsaw; and Gary (and spouse Linda) Oxenrider, Zionsville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Steve Mullin officiating. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
