BOURBON - Carl F. Miller Sr., 78, of 4235 9B Road, Bourbon, died peacefully at 7:45 a.m. Jan. 31, 2008, in his residence, in the care of his family.

He was born March 6, 1929, in Bourbon, to Kelsey and Sarah Lemler Miller. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Jean Askins, who survives.

A lifetime Bourbon resident, he was a forklift driver at Bendix Corp., retiring in 1985. He also had a great love for farming and caring for his garden.

Also surviving are six children: Carl Miller Jr. and Tony (and spouse Becky) Miller, both of Plymouth; Ricky Lee (and spouse Connie) Miller and Connie (and spouse Randy) Branstrator, both of Fort Wayne; and Jimmy and Kerry Miller, both of Bourbon; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Elizabeth Mae (and spouse Russell) Myers, Milford; Maxine (and spouse Arden) Williamson, Pierceton; and Laura Belle Fields, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, two sisters and six brothers.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, with the Rev. Gail Law officiating.

Calling is from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
