MARION - Carl Eugene Cavanaugh, 82, of Marion, died at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 2, 2009, in Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.

He was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Hartford City, to Shellard Cavanaugh and Reatha McDermott Cavanaugh Glover. On April 12, 1947, he married Jackie Branham, who survives.

He lived in Marion most of his life, but resided in Warsaw at their lake home for the last 10 years. He retired from Foster Forbes after 30 years. He also worked at ARA Food Service for 15 years and the American Legion Post 253, North Webster, for 10 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 253 and Moose Lodge of Marion.

Also surviving are a daughter, Debra (and spouse Jim) Knight, Marion; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Marion, with Pastor Kaye Patton officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Marion.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
