He was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Wabash County, to Herbert A. and Edna E. Parrett Sundheimer. On June 5, 1949, in Wabash, he married Peggy Fisher, who died Oct. 9, 1994. On May 25, 1996, in Urbana, she married Lucy Hall Tudor, who survives.
He graduated from Wabash High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a self-employed truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana; Eagles Lodge; Moose Lodge 1195; American Legion Post 15; and Hanna Masonic Lodge, all of Wabash; and Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, both of Fort Wayne. He enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards and working in his rose garden.
Also surviving are two daughters, Carla (and spouse Fred) Seibold, Roann, and Karen McKenzie (and Mike Vanlandingham), Wabash; three stepchildren, Sam (and spouse Barb) Cone, Urbana; Bill Tudor, Wabash; and Kelly (and spouse Tim) Luzadder, Flora; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; one grandson, a step-granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with Alan Siepker officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
