The Cardinal Center announces Employment Specialist Rick Ralston recently received the 2005 Indiana APSE Professional Award.

IN-APSE - Indiana Association for Persons in Supported Employment - presents this honor annually to reward professionals working to employ people with disabilities. The award honors professionals who maintain the utmost standards in their work.

Ralston is a retired schoolteacher with 30 years experience in the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. Upon retirement, he searched for another job to fill his days, and found the Community Employment Program at Cardinal Center. He is a job coach to individuals with disabilities and works closely with their employer to ensure satisfaction on both sides.

"We were so lucky to have found him during the brief time he was available," says Cardinal Center CEO, Jane Greene. "Rick's level of commitment to the people he works with is unsurpassed. He is totally dedicated to seeing them employed and fulfilled in their work."

To be eligible for the award, IN-APSE requires that nominees exhibit the highest standards of trustworthiness, respect, supportiveness, and innovation in their interactions with supported employees, as well as their friends, family members and employers. [[In-content Ad]]
