After Kaufman's performance, the live auction conducted by Jerry Ehle began.
The highest-bid item at the live auction was an 18-karat white gold bracelet set with 57 multi-color round sapphires and diamonds donated by Bowers Jewelry that sold for $7,500.
A day of rejuvenation donated by the Vein Institute and Medical Spa sold for $3,500.
A fishing trip at Put-In-Bay on Lake Erie with Greg Yarbrough, Cabela's Angler of the Year, that included a two-night stay at Put-In-Bay Resort and Conference Center donated by Peter Barrett of Starcraft Marine brought in $3,000. A late addition to the live auction, two rounds of golf at Monterey Peninsula, went for $3,000.
Six seats at a Chicago Bears game and a trip to the game in a luxury motor home donated by Dave Stell and Omer Kropf sold for $3,000, while four tickets to an Indianapolis Colts game at the new Lucas Oil Stadium donated by Toby Buck brought $2,500.
A Sunday evening cooking class at Cerulean Restaurant donated by Caleb France brought $1,800.
Total monies raised through the silent auction items have not yet been released, but the Cancer Care Gala organizers hope to have another record year.
In 2008, the charity will mark a milestone as it hands out its one millionth dollar to those in need.
