LEESBURG – Golf Chairman Ron Smock estimated that the 2014 Cancer Care Golf Fundraiser that was held at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club Sept. 8 raised over $35,000 for the Cancer Care Fund.
The fund is used to provide financial relief for residents of Kosciusko County who are dealing with the financial burdens related to their cancer diagnosis and treatment. One hundred percent of all net funds raised are distributed through relief programs administered by the K21 Health Foundation.
Based on financial records from the past few years, Smock predicts this year’s total tops previous amounts by more than $3,000. He credits the generosity of the hole-in-one sponsors, business and individual hole sponsors, and the 51 teams that supported all the fundraising activities of the day.
“I can’t thank the sponsors, players, volunteers and committee members enough for making this one of the best golf fundraisers we have ever had,” Smock said. “Friends and neighbors in our community who are struggling financially because of cancer are a little better off because of the tremendous support of local businesses and individuals who responded for this worthy cause.”[[In-content Ad]]
