CAFOs

I would like to thank Mr. Kolbe and Mr. Stinfer for responding to my letter regarding CAFOs. I was greatly disappointed that neither could muster much understanding or concern for my plight. I got the impression of, too bad about your property values and your water supply, your quality of life, your freedom, and hell no I don't want to live there. Perhaps one needs to live next door to one of these hell holes to fully appreciate what I experience everyday.
Missing from the conversation was an answer from Mr. Nisly or any of his chorus of cheerleaders, nor did he knock on my door in his much heralded door-to-door campaign. It seems unless the subject matter is God, guns, gays. or abortion the silence from the Nisly camp is deafening. Does he not have an opinion or was the issue just something not worthy of his time? Since he refused to reply to my letter, I have to wonder what type of public servant he would make, or is he more interested in being an ideologue and self servant.
A few years ago INDOT was in the habit of dumping chunks of asphalt 5" to 6" deep across the front of my diligently and lovingly cared for lawn. This material was supposed to serve the purpose of fill along the road and included large staples and other sharp objects which is rather hazardous to lawn mower tires. I contacted state senator Ryan Mishler which was an absolute waste of time as he is always “too busy” to be bothered. (The GOP needs to find someone to primary this empty suit.) I sent a letter and pictures to Governor Daniels office and a letter to my representative at the time, Mr. Bill Friend. About a week later I received a phone call from a member of Rep. Friend's staff. Shortly after that I received visits from the INDOT area and district managers. This asphalt is no longer used.
Representative Friend and I agree on absolutely nothing, but he knew the true meaning of being a public servant. I suggest to whoever wins this race that they contact Rep. Friend and take some lessons on constituent services and being a public servant.
When voters go to the polls next week ask yourself if a man that refuses to answer questions as a candidate, will he bother to answer to you after elected?
