WAKARUSA – C. Evelyn Stiver, 98, of 300 N. Washington St., Wakarusa, died at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 22, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.           

She was born Aug. 20, 1913, in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Abram R. and Oma Berkey Brubaker. On Aug. 27, 1939, she married Orange DeVon Stiver, who died Feb. 1, 1995.

Surviving are two daughters; two sons, including Brian (and spouse Rose) Stiver, Warsaw; a brother; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.               

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa, with the Revs. David Harper and Brooks Henry officiating. Burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret –Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
