Five adults and one juvenile were arrested Thursday as the result of an investigation into illegal drugs in Kosciusko County.
Police also confiscated a stolen handgun; more than $6,000 in cash; a quarter pound of marijuana; a quarter pound of a substance believed to be methamphetamine; suspected forgeries of Social Security cards, alien identification cards and drivers' licenses; two cars; and other possible stolen items believed to be related to area burglaries.
Fernando Ramirez, 26, of 10 Henderson Drive, Warsaw, is being held with no bond in Kosciusko County Jail and is charged with dealing marijuana and felony theft.
Refugio Rico, 18, also of 10 Henderson Drive, was charged with maintaining a common nuisance and felony theft and is being held with no bond.
Charged with visiting a common nuisance and held with no bond were: Dilberto Ramirez, 19, of 1407 Flamingo Drive, Warsaw; Fiberto Medina, 23, Chicago, Ill.; and Celerino Juarez, 24, of 1837 Michael St., Warsaw.
The raid was the result of an ongoing investigation in which Charles "Chuck" Robinson, 21, of 3104 E. Wooster Road, Pierceton, was arrested Wednesday for bond revocation. Robinson had 2-1/2 pounds of marijuana in his possession when he was arrested.
Using information obtained at Robinson's arrest, tips, information from a police agency in Illinois and undercover buys, a search warrant was issued for the residents of 10 Henderson Drive.
The Kosciusko County canine, Fritz, also was used in the raid and alerted police to several items in the residence and in vehicles, including one vehicle known to be used to transport large amounts of drugs into the area.
The arrests were the result of an investigation that included officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, the Kosciusko County Special Operations Team, Warsaw Police Department and the North Manchester Police Department. [[In-content Ad]]
